Credendo Vides

What does it mean?

Credendo Vides is a latin phrase which translates to: By believeing one sees.

The first time I heard this phrase was in a movie called 'Voyage of the Unicorn'. Till this day it's my favourite film. The meaning behind the phrase states, in order for miracles to happen you have to believe in their existance in the first place. Otherwise it is mere coincidence. Rahter than saying what you see is what you get, we should say, what you believe is what you get. My artistic goal is to recreate that magical nostagic feeling of optimism. To reignite the childlike belief that anything is possible, and to refresh the moments in our life where everything was new and magical. If my art can spark that belief and feeling in even the most nihilistic of souls than I feel I've done my job.

You may have noticed in the header a closed an open eye. The closed eye represents lightmode, seeing is beliveing. In the daytime we dont have to think about wheather what were seeing is real. It's right infront of us. The open eye reprents dark mode. In complete darkness, we can't see anything! We have to rely on the belief that everything is exactly where it was before the sun set. Thus by believing you see.

I invite you to explore my unfinished site. As I am coding it from scratch, and learning as I go along, understandably its going to take me a while to take it from its current unfinished reality to the vision I see so clearly.
